Triple D…. Dad Doin’ Dinner

Triple D isn’t just the Guy Fieri hosted show on Food Network, it’s a movement that’s sweeping the land. Dad Doin’ Dinner! The sight of this dad commanding the cooktop is quite rare. However, certain culinary creations have the DDD certification! Allow me to introduce you to one of my family’s favorites!

Pizza Pasta!

Where it all begins… my children’s hopes, my dreams, my wife’s desires!
The lineup… 3/4 of which we already had stocked in the kitchen!
Da Pork in Da Skillet
My very talented sous chef working on fractions during the summer… while the original recipe calls for mini-pepperoni, we called an audible at the store and chose the Cup n’ Crisp variation!
When pep “meats” pork
Making the dish heart healthy-ish…. plus, I adopted the use of a plate to help drain the fat… a life-changing discovery.
Next up, oregano, basil and garlic powder. Separated like a middle school dance, but leave it to tomato sauce to make things interesting and delicious!
Action shot!
Remember to hydrate 🙂
Getting there….
Who else sees some bubbles and an uncooked noodle nestling with some pork inside a crisped pepperoni cup?
After the skillet was covered and the heat reduced to a simmer for 12-14 minutes, a cup of shredded mozzarella cheese and a few more pepperoni cups are placed on top and broiled for 2 uncovered minutes.
Swirl and Serve!

There you have it! Dad Doin’ Dinner! The kiddos were thrilled, I was exhausted and my wife was ecstatic! For the recipe and further cooking directions, check out the website that I used and look forward to exploring further!
